Paul Johnson has toured as a headliner at comedy clubs and international festivals across the US, Asia and Europe. He has worked with comedians Jimmy Shubert, Dwayne Perkins, Tom Rhodes, DC Benny, Butch Bradley, and Glenn Wool. Paul has been described as 'un-dislike-able' (Shanghaiist), 'a handsome Todd Barry' (DC Benny), and 'an emotionally distant son' (Edith Johnson).

Paul is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post Comedy page.

He wrote two popular columns for Time Out Shanghai magazine. The back page 'Slice of Life' humor column, and 'Inside Job' in which he tries a new job for a day.

Paul's personal humor blog The Good Greatsby has been awarded 'Freshly Pressed' status five times by Wordpress.com as the best of Wordpress blogs. It frequently ranks at the top or near the top of Wordpress humor blogs as measured by 'Wordpress Recommends'.

When Paul Johnson was a kid he swore he would never sell out…but nobody ever asked him to.  Not even once.

Now he would give anything to have that chance–the chance to sell out.

Today he writes for the simple joy of creating something that will make people think…and hopefully those people will think about how much they like him and want to give him money.

And once those people have given him money he’ll use it to buy nice things that will impress his friends.

And if those friends aren’t impressed by his new wealth and fame, he hopes his elevated status will win him new friends who are smarter and more attractive than his old friends.

If you would like to recommend yourself or someone else as a potential smarter, more attractive friend, please contact Paul today: paul@thegoodgreatsby.com

Time Out Shanghai: Inside Job

Time Out Shanghai: Inside Job

Paul tried every job in China. He drove a train full of nervous passengers despite failing every test at subway driver school. He received numerous marriage proposals while working as a matchmaker. And as a rat catcher he came face-to-face with sights so stomach-turning to be worthy of consideration as a weight-loss program. He’s worked as an assembly line worker, acupuncturist, sidewalk barber, brewmaster, chiropractor, tailor, food testing panelist, stuntman, and many more.
